How to install CHDK.

Hi Guys, totally new to this site and using CHDK, and having a total nightmare trying to install on SD Card. Im trying to install on SX400 IS, it is the card lock method, please can someone guide me in the correct direction, I have installed magic lantern on my DSLR but as said before no joy with CHDK on SX400 IS.

Preferrred Installation Method : STICK .

For an unreleased port, you'll need these instructions : Installing an unsupported build

However, it does not look like there is a CHDK port for the SX400 yet.

Information about CHDK for the SX400 (including compiled code) is available here.

Maybe. Where are you getting that message?  On your PC when running STICK? Or on the screen of your camera when CHDK starts?

Please post STICK's log file as an attachment to a post here.  (sticklog.txt in the directory where you installed STICK - please don't cut & paste the whole thing - just attach the file)

Meanwhile, how big is the SD card you are trying to use?  See : Using STICK with a 64GB card

I'm going to assume you are running Windows (rather than Mac OSX or some flavour of Linux). To run STICK you need to double-click the stickx.cmd file that's in the directory created when you unzip the stick.zip file. That will bring up a dialog box asking you to give STICK permission - needed because Windows won't let apps write to the boot sector of cards without it.
