Hi,
In the code base for CHDK, is it open source code that generates the DNG files, or are you relying on some hidden feature of Canon firmware to generate DNGs?

It's all open source available from the CHDK svn repo.  AFAIK, even Canon Powershots with native RAW capability know nothing about DNG.
