Any ports planned for the Elph 180 in the near future?  We are looking to build a multi camera rig with the cheapest canons we can find - 8MP and up.  Need at least 50 or so which makes shopping older models a challenge.

Any advice appreciated!

Did you determine which version of the firmware has your camera?
Here is the CHDK for elph180 / ixus175, but only for the firmware version 100c.

Did you determine which version of the firmware has your camera?
Here is the CHDK for elph180 / ixus175, but only for the firmware version 100c.

There is no official build for this camera.

The "Firmware Update Method" does not work,you must use the "Bootable SD Card Method" ,to load chdk.

I discovered there is a defect in the 180 that requires the camera to be sent back for a factory repair. This is determined from a code inside the battery door.
Also, CHDK is working only with a single firmware version of the 180.


These 2 issues make buying this model specifically to use with CHDK a bad idea, unless the camera can be returned without penalty.
