Hi,
Is there a script that will reduced the exposure in bright areas, like the sky?
I've tried the included HDR, but it's very glitchy(?) and I can't get it to work.
Thanks,
..... john

For the most part, , making "HDR" images is a two step process.  The first step is to take two or more images of the same subject at different exposures.  The second step is to combine those images in post-processing on your PC.   You can usa any one of several CHDK scripts to capture the necessary images. The post processing steps will depend on the software on your computer..

The simple HDR script included with CHDK should run well. Please provide more details about what you did and saw?

Hi Waterwinz,
My mistake. What I interpreted as erratic behavior was the program doing it's thing. So, if I have this right, it will take 3 image (maybe more??) at different exposures, which I then assemble to get the HDR image? Is there a script that will assemble them?
Thanks,
..... john

Correct.

Not in camera, you need something on your PC. I'll see if I can find some example Instructions.

Good! Thanks.
If you just want to play around a bit,  this one is free :  Luminance HDR and works on multiple platforms.  Otherwise, this seems to be the industry leader :  Photomatix but its a little more money.

Or you could just google "how to do hdr photography" and see what else tickles your fancy.
