@reyalp

The attached patch should enable compiler detection from DISKBOOT.BIN.

There seems to be a bug in the patch. The compiler string shows in the splash screen.

You're right, I tested but didn't notice that. Fixing...

edit:
Should be fixed now.

0.9.1 - 2017-06-05
  • Added exFAT support
  • Added CRW and CR2 support
  • Added 400plus binary detection
  • Added ML module binary detection
  • Various bugfixes and code improvements
Note: Since I've hit the attachment size limit, I had to migrate from .zip to .7z.

@reyalp

My apologies about that patch. GCC 4.9.3 insists on putting the added string in a location that's separate from the previous three.

I'm attaching a patch that works without breaking the splash screen (built, tested on a camera and with CHIMP vNEXT).

@dmitrys :  does CHIMP have a way to install "unofficial" builds?  (like  : STICKX )

Maybe it's obvious but I can't check on Linux.  Which makes me wonder about using Wine to run CHIMP ... hmmmmm.

OK, I've checked into trunk. I'm going to let it sit a little a day or two before moving over to the stable branch.

I admit I'm starting to have reservations about this. I put the first version in because it seemed easy and harmless, but I'm wondering if we really want the version string to be an interface that has compatibility implications?

Also just FYI, the last patch was reversed.

Although this feature was planned for 0.9.0, it currently requires a significant effort to implement. It will be done eventually, of course.

I'd love to hear if that worked!
