I've serached on this topic but didn't find anything


Is it possible programmatic to let the shutter sound from one camera trigger the shutter on a bunch of other cameras?

No, CHDK unfortunately does not currently provide a way to use the audio input. You might be able to build a circuit using the USB remote (http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/USB_Remote) functionality.

Some of the audio functions are known, if you have some reverse engineering skill it might be possible to develop an audio trigger. See the bonus PDF on https://www.coresecurity.com/corelabs-research/publications/exploiting-digital-cameras

As far as triggering others on flash, the motion detection module should be able to do this.
