Thanks for answering.
You already use this type of software on another camera, a canon sx230. I thought it was a similar process. It is not like this?

The process is similar.  However it still requires a lot of work and time to follow the process and create a port for a new camera.  Somebody with the right skills needs to volunteer to do that work.
