Hi,

I want to install the CHDK on my powershot s110, but i'm confused if it's possible at all. I just update my firmware to 1.0.2.0.

In the list containing the supported cameras, it states: S110: 101b, 102b, 103a
I'm not sure what this means. Is there another firmware upgrade from 1.0.2.0 to 1.0.2.b?

Kind Regards,
Melkman

1.0.2.0 is not the relevant firmware information for CHDK.

Try the All In One tool STICK. This tool finds the right version number for you and installs CHDK on the sd card.

From the STICK web page :

Note for Mac OSX Users
Recent versions of OSX (Mountain Lion and later) require root access to make changes to cards. As a result, STICK will fail with a "permission refused" message unless it has root access. To run STICK under Mountain Lion, Mavericks, Yosemite, El Capitan or later versions, use the stickML.command script. Double-clicking the script will bring up a terminal window and sudo will ask you to type your logon password so STICK can get root access. STICK will run when you press return.

Hi,

Almost there...

Does anybody know how to format a SD card as a bootable FAT32 on a mac?

Kind Regards,
Melkman

Bootable is a Canon/CHDK concept only.  FAT32 is a generic format.  They are seperate "things".

Depending on the size of your SD card (not huge), you can most likely format it to FAT32 simply by using the camera's low level format option.

Then use STICK, which will set the necessary things in the SD card header to make it bootable on your camera.

edit : a quick google search of "mac format sd card to fat32" finds this : Format SD card to FAT32 on a Mac computer .  There are many other links  8)

Hi,

Yes, you are right. But i did perform a format in disc utility, it was FAT32, but STICK kept on saying it was not bootable :-(

I did a further search and found MacBoot (http://www.zenoshrdlu.com/macboot/macboot.html)
And now it did make my card bootable. Although i thought that the "make CHDK32-bootable" option also failed and i used another one.

Alas, in the end, i was able to get everything on my SD card and my S110 powershot accepted the firmware update and the CHDK.

Now i have to find a timelapse script somewhere on the interwebs.

Thnx everyone for the advice!  :)

Now i have to find a timelapse script somewhere on the interwebs.
link > User Written Scripts : Intervalometers

The most technically complex and complete is probably the  Raw Meter Intervalometer

The simplest (interval.lua) is already on your SD card in the A/CHDK/SCRIPTS folder.

The others are all a little diffferent.  Have fun exploring.

Thnx!

Oh yes, that is a pretty advanced script :P Much more features then the interval.lua-script.
My first timelapse ended a bit sooner than expected. But i noticed the review screen stayed on the whole time, draining the battery more quickly.
So, great to see this script has the abillity to turn of the screen! :D

Kind Regards
