Camera Auto Shutdown issue

I have a SX260 that I am attempting to use for UAV Surveying. I have tried the KAP UAV Intervalometer and Ultra Intervalometer, but I keep running into the same issue. Most of the time I start the script I will get a 15 second countdown timer to shutoff with a "half-press shutter" cancel. Even after canceling it the camera will still shutdown after a short period. "memory card error" will occasionally appear as well, but only while running these scripts.
I have used two different SD cards, reformatted and re-ran "STICK" multiple times to no avail.
Any advice as to the problem?

That's strange. There is no code in either script that will do that. And I can't think of anything else in CHDK itself that would do that.

It would be interesting to know what is causing that message.

Can you take pictures of your camera's screen (with a mobile phone maybe) so that we can see exactly what the count down and card error messages look like?

Both scripts will produce log files as they run. I'm not expecting much here as I don't think this is script related but would you enable the logs, do some testing, and post the resulting logs here as attachments?

What happens if you try to run the simple interval.lua script that comes with CHDK's default install?

I'm unaware of how to start and pull a log file. The issue persists with the interval.lua script as well. I can't duplicate the memory card error, that issue is inconsistent, however I have uploaded a photo of the countdown.

I think I understand the problem.  You have CHDK's GPS functionality enabled and have asked CHDK to log a "waypoint" after each JPG is saved.  But you do not have GPS position lock so CHDK puts up that message and counts down, waiting for you to do something about the problem.

Do you need to use the CHDK GPS functions?  Your images will still have GPS data in their EXIF info if you disable the CHDK GPS code.

Otherwise, you won't be able to use the camera indoors like you are now.  Take it outside, let the camera "see" enough satellites to get a position lock, and you should not see that message after each shot.

I had not thought of that.
Unfortunately my surveying software does require Geo-tagging. I originally had all of CHDK's GPS functionality turned off, while turned on using the normal Canon firmware. I found that this did not capture GPS data, but would capture with current settings. That being said, what settings would you recommend stay on in CHDK for GPS to properly tag?

Edit: It started Geo-tagging again with CHDK GPS disabled and everything else seems to be working as well.
I'm befuddled, but can't thank you enough. Thanks!

The GPS in my Canon S100 is very slow to acquire a satellite lock. Sometimes more than five minutes on a clear day with an unobstructed view of the sky. I suspect you had that sort of issue while trying to understand the various options.  Leave the CHDK GPS  stuff disabled.
