Out of Okus I=I==I was.
I fealt the natural sound of click "shoot_half" but the conditions were too noisy to hear it.

Nice work, that gets it. USB remote now works as it should - with synch enabled. 5V on: half press, black screen for like 10 sec, 5V off during that period shoots. ND test attached.
Thanks, change checked in.

@Caefix
Here's a test build for ixus230_elph310hs-100e.  If you can, please run ndtest, and test synced remote and dark frame subtraction (DFS) control.

To test synced remote:
Without USB connected, go to CHDK Settings->Remote parameters and set
* Enable remote
* Switch Type: One push
* Control mode: Normal  set
* Enable remote sync
You can test by plugging into a PC or powered hub. When you plug in, the camera should focus and the screen will probably go black. When you unplug, it should shoot. If you wait more than 10s without unplugging, it will shoot anyway.

To test DFS
Set shooting mode to long shutter, and shutter to 5s. With CHDK Enhanced Photo Operation -> Dark Frame Subtraction in ON or Auto, a shot should take 10s instead of 5, with the camera probably showing BUSY for the second 5s. With DFS OFF, it should take only 5s.

If you use a 1s exposure, it should take 2s with 1s of BUSY with DFS, and take only 1s with it off.

 :-* [] [] [] [] [] [] [] [] [] [] [] [] [] [] [] finally found!

First was ndtest, got nice csv.
Tested other stuff, passed fine.
Did ndtest again, cam crash after "single 6/6", sometimes later, got romlog  :blink: again & again.
Finished once more, crash...

Thanks. That assert looks like it's caused by low free memory, which was previously reported for this cam.

Here's a test build with exmem enabled, in addition to changes in previous build. Please do the same tests.

It would also be good if you can compare jpeg quality in with this build and a non-exmem build such as the previous test or autobuild.

Set size jpeg to full size in canon settings, enable super-fine in CHDK, and take pictures of the same scene with each build. The scene should have a lot of detail, trees or text on paper or screen are good. If the size is very different (like one is 3 MB, and the other is 600 K) then exmem could be affecting quality.

Some explanation would be helpful.
What triggered the LUAASRT DMP. If it's the script in the screenshot, then having the script itself would be helpful.
Does the problem happen with other builds, or only this one?

Thanks.

@Caefix
I found a mistake in my last build. Here's another test.

My G11's screen came briefly alive with the split screen again...
Enough to have everything set for the ND test.
Koshy had a little ELPH which wasn't white as snow but everywhere that Koshy went the ELPH was sure to go. (actually an SD, but that detail ruins the rhyme...)

 8) All tests passed with pleasure.
One of the script´s a hundred unexplainable benefits is exploring memory limits.
Cam´s, user´s and mine, that´s fine.
