Recall what happend last time you said "No rush", there was a good but sad reason for that though, life got in the way.
Hence the smiley... but it is genuinely OK. Things happen when they happen.

I've gone through the logs from your last set.  Most are fine, there are a few ports that seem to have issues but I'll need to dig a bit further to figure out the next steps.

Since the original post with the list seems to have issues, here's the A series list. There's no need to test other A series which are not defined to have an ND filter in CHDK

I updated the test script to better handle some of the issues seen in previous results. No need to re-test anything, but please use the new version (1.7) for future tests  https://app.assembla.com/spaces/chdk/subversion/source/HEAD/trunk/CHDK/SCRIPTS/TEST/ndtest.lua

It looks like ixus85_sd770 had the same problem as ixus970_sd890, test build attached.
Test attached.

Thanks. I put it in place.
Koshy had a little ELPH which wasn't white as snow but everywhere that Koshy went the ELPH was sure to go. (actually an SD, but that detail ruins the rhyme...)

I think A540, A570, A590 should be looked at in terms of "Is that so?" Probably A710 and A720, too.
For the first three I'd be extremely surprised if there was no ND filter and for the latter two still very surprised...
What to do to find out?

I've had the a590 for many years and there's no way that camera has an ND filter.
A quick look at the firmware shows that it contains only IrisActuator.c

O.k. did you check for actual DOF differences with different iris settings?
I would have expected these lens units to be the same:

O.k. always bet on stupidity. Was thrown off by form factor didn't look closely. All 5 have TV / AV modes.
@blackhole did the test I asked about so that's that...

Thanks. Confirmed fixed and checked in :)

I'm very confident those are iris only. They don't have the ND related firmware tasks, or ND state/value functions, and they all do clearly have an adjustable aperture (they all have Av mode with multiple values, and Av overrides have been extensively used on these cameras)

Some other apparently iris-only cameras (A650, SX10, SX20 for example) do have some of the ND related code, but the ones tested earlier in the thread clearly adjusted the aperture when the ND functions were called.

So, after finding that everyone but me was alert today when it comes to irises, here is the 23 A cameras I have that needed ND tests. That means we're finally through the lot once. Specific tests hereafter...

Thanks. This is great test coverage, and we can confidently say the ND features work on most cameras. The firmware ND value is also generally in good agreement with the measured value.

One group of cameras appears to have issues:
A490, A495, A3100, ixus130_sd400, ixus300_sd4000
All of these are DryOS R43, propset 3 cams and Tv and Av prop override fail in "quick" mode.
ND control / value actually appears to work, but the failed override breaks the test. I haven't looked closely at the code for these yet.

The only other DryOS R43 cams with ND filter are untested: A3000, ixus105_sd1300.

Other failed cameras are the early vxworks cams without the remote hook, and a530 which should be new enough to have the have the hook but doesn't have it implemented.
Don't forget what the H stands for.
