Welcome to the forum !
Your cam has DryOS, which means it can not start CHDK with the firmware update method; it needs the 'boot method':
Easiest (AFAIK) method:
- put your SD card in a card reader (max. size 4 GB, this method will fail otherwise)
- download
zSHARE - cardtricks127.exe- select your card, then click 'Format as FAT' (if not greyed out), and then 'Make Bootable'
- copy your favourite version in the root of the card (if your CHDK version is in zip form you can
use the button 'Copy->Card', otherwise do it manually)
- you should now have a 'DISKBOOT.BIN' in the root of the card
- write-protect your SD card and return it into the camera (no worries, you'll still be able to save your pics)
- start camera in playback mode -> CHDK should autostart (blue splash screen)
- users' guide (under construction) here
