thank-you for that info - my general impression was that the cost and time of doing something like that would negate the initial cost saving anyway, but now I have specific search terms to google for and I can see the actual prices are lowish, it might be ok.
How is your human-scanning coming along anyway? I've done a couple of people now, results look nice when a photo texture is applied, but the underlying mesh is only so-so. I would like to post some results here, I will have to ask the models for permission first.
And, whereabouts in the UK are you? I'm in Hertfordshire, I'd be very open to meeting up if you want,
