SX530 Raw quality

I was psyched to find this software so i could extend exposure via shutter speed. Rules.

I am having issues with outputting raw files though. It is set to output DNG but save with a .cr2 extension. Opens up great in lightroom but the image is shifted to the blue part of the rgb spectrum. After I apply a lens correction (SX530 HS (4.3-215.0 mm f3.4-6.5) - RAW) and whitebalance there is still some weird color aberrations that kind of ruin the image. No matter what I do in lightroom I can't get them to look even close to as good as the jpg's the camera spits out.

Any suggestions? Is the issue related to how chdk creates the raw files and converts to DNG? I am using a release that is not flagged as a stable release.

Please upload a DNG file from CHDK to a file sharing site (Dropbox, Google Drive, etc) and post the link to the file here.

That way we can examine the file and see if there is any issue with the SX530 build.

I second Phils request for a sample DNG, but from what you posted the main artifact I see looks like chromatic aberration. This should be correctable in raw software. I don't use lightroom myself, but google suggests that it has some options for fixing CA.
Don't forget what the H stands for.

If you use my lens profile, removal of chromatic aberration is not turned on when making. I used the LCD monitor to create a profile, and the LCD matrix entails many obstacles in removing the chromatic aberration.
Here you can see how to do it in Adobe Lightroom:

Honestly, if you do not have much experience and knowledge in working with RAW, it will be very difficult to get a picture better than Canon's JPG, especially in poor light conditions.
Share your DNG.

Thanks much. Playing with defringing, helps a bit. I am learning how to process raw photos. Hoping to someday master creating better jpegs.

Here is a link to the DNG's - https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B7MAqu6Jfg86cHlhRGpoMXlibEU/view?usp=sharing

The images look ok in RawTherapee - no blue shift. Have not tried Lightroom yet.

I can reproduce the blue issue in Lightroom.
The White Balance in the DNG files is completely wrong - looks like an issue with the settings for this camera in CHDK.

Attached is a test build to try - please see if this fixes the blue issue.
I don't have this camera, so I just guessing at the correct value here. If this doesn't work we'll need to try some other methods to find the correct value(s).

Major improvement. Normal color/wb when loaded into lightroom now.

Couple observations:

1)  I am saving these as DNG but with the extension .cr2. They used to show up when browsing cam via wifi, and in the canon image software. Canon's software does not flag the files as raw files. It used to say jpeg|raw when you fire up the canon software and it would download the files when you synced files with the software. (Worked in previous release)

2) I think the lens profile I am using might need adjustments. It requires distortion adjustments, you can see the gutter in the attached pics is wobbly. with the sx530 cam profile I have loaded in lightroom.

3) In Raw Therapee the DNG's load up looking pretty good except for blue and red pixels all over the place when you zoom in.

Appreciate the info!

Thanks. I'll add the fix to SVN for the auto build.

Not sure about this. Nothing else was changed in the test build. Are you saving the DNG images to the same directory as the jpeg files.

RawTherapee doesn't use the DNG 1.3 bad pixel instructions stored in the file to fix these. Adobe software does.

Yes. Jpeg folder. I restarted and took more pics. The DNG files are now showing up as expected. Fluke I guess.
