Hi all,
I`m pretty stoked on this. I`m looking forward to trying it out myself. I have a SD800 IS with what appears to be the old firmware, GM1.00D. There doesn`t seem to be any information on an update to GM1.00E on either the US or Canadian Canon sites, and it looks like CHDK support is limited to the E version. I was able to download a dump of the E firmware with the filename `primary_ixus850_sd800_100e.BIN`. There were no included instructions. Has anyone updated the firmware on an SD800 IS? Is it even possible? I`d like to hear if there are any success stories with this particular model, and what limitations there are.

I tried it and it works perfectly. I also have an SD800IS (IXUS850IS here in EUROPE) with firmware 1.00D not E.

Simply copy the 2 files in the root directory of your SD card, start the camera in play mode, press mode and then Firm. Updade and here you are !

you don't need it. this file for developers

it seems D and E versions re identical to CHDK (   refs to nikopol78 )

Please check and confirm that CHDk for 1.00E fully works on 1.00D firmware. Then the appropriate notice should be added to wiki.

Hi all,
Been offline for a while, thanks to everyone for their replies. I can confirm that the CHDK for E version seems to work fine with the D version firmware, haven't run into any problems yet. Utterly painless to get going. Thanks again, everyone!
