You did it!
Thank you very much, this should be included in the next stable release.

I've tested both the a480 & a490.
The jpeg setting is available and works.
It deliveres slightly larger files than my s95 in superfine. (4MB VS 3.5MB)

to show the quality difference I included an long distance shot in poor weather (Iso400 f/5.6 1/250sec)
That always helps me to spot noise. Although night shots do that better

Thanks for the offer.  These ports have been available for quite some time and can be considered stable so no specific testing is still required.  Please enjoy CHDK and report back anything strange or not working that you notice during your normal use.

Thanks again Waterwingz and msl for your work, much appreciated.

what i do think is amazing is that I now see the canon superfine logo next to the L in the corner when the camera boots up in CHDK, last time I saw that logo was on my ixus v2.
i can't choose that in the menu, but it is in the system. It is no longer visible when the camera is in operation, when the fine logo is positioned above the L

And I can report strange behaviour, some settings come to mind..on the other hand I usually just dismiss it as incapabilitys of me or the models I use.
Or maybe just designchoices.

Like something with the infinity settings not holding on restart of the camera or that the camera shuts down if a script uses the reboot function. reboot is working in 1.4.1, I was mistakenly thinking about the 1.3.0 I used before.
