Bracketing with intervalometer?

The bracketing requires the shoot button to be pressed and kept pressed to shoot multiple exposures, each one with a different exposure value. Since interval shoot takes only one photo each X time, bracket change in exposure will happen only with the next shoot. My SX400/500 shoots continuously as long as the shoot button is kept pressed with no limit on number of shots. So, with the bracketing set in CHDK when will it stop bracketing and start taking normal exposure again?

Let me ask differently. X400/500 requires shoot button to be pressed continuously to take multiple shots. The bracketing setting in CHDK will bracket each subsequent shot as long as the shutter is kept pressed. But if I were using the countdown intervalometer each time interval is triggered the shoot button will not be held down and only one shot will be taken. But CHDK guide tells me that the next shot will be bracketed. So it will take normal -- +1EV -1EV +2EV -2EV and so on. When will it stop and take the normal shot again? Or will all the shots be normal and not bracketed. If so, is there a way to get bracketed shots along with the intervalometer rather than single shot taken manually?

You would need a script specifically written to do that. I think some have been posted. I don't know if any are recent or work on your cameras, but you could try searching for "bracketing intervalometer" or "HDR intervalometer"

I think CHDK bracketing will be applied in script, but the script would need to use key presses to hold the shoot button down for however many shots you wanted to bracket, so you still need a custom script.

I have thought about adding bracketing functionality to rawopint, but haven't got around to it.
Don't forget what the H stands for.

Try : HDRlapse.lua - an HDR intervalometer with fast shooting or even Ultimate Intervalometer for fairly recent "universal" intervalometes that support bracketing.
