to clarify: rawopint calculates exposure from the previous shot, so if there is a long time between shots, or lighting changes very quickly, results could be significantly worse than using values calculated immediately before the shot by canon autoexposure)

Thanks that was what I was kinda wondering about, but this doesn't seem like a problem that you could fix if you're shooting a time lapse that is not flickering, I mean it's pretty much impossible to know how bright the next let's say 10 shots are going to be. The lack of aperature (and automatic ND-filter) script-control on the other seems not that hard to do, though it's not really easy as well, and not too much of a bummer for me, for now, if it get's that or if I'm too bored I may or let's say most likely could (given enough time, maybe even just specifically for the G7X) even add it myself.

tl;dr : if you are going to shoot every few seconds then use the rawopt stuff.  If you are only going to shoot every 15 minutes or so, choose a script that relies on the Canon exposure values like ultimate.lua or yass.lua.
