Thanks, dumb huh.
OK so I did everything else and tried 1.0a (camera would not start) then 1.0b and the it appears to work. The splash screen comes up and the alt mode works but there is no Update Firmware on the menu. I presume that as its all working it's not needed?
OK now I'm really showing how dumb I am.
Please tell me I'm right when I say that alt mode is for setting up the parameters and running scripts and once carried out you go back to normal to take the photos?
I downloaded the CHDK Userguide in Progress and I guess it needs a really basic explanation of what it does, or is it in the wikia and I missed it?
