Last night, 29 Oct 09, my latest 3D Hi-Def video, "The Blessing of the Animals" was shown at the American Museum of Natural History here in New York. This 5-minute excerpt of a longer work in progress documents the celebration of St. Francis of Assisi, founder of the Franciscan order of monks and a friend of all animals. As part of this celebration, a diverse selection of animals - yak, reindeer, camel, donkey, tortoise, ducks, swans, Golden Eagle, Barn Owl, hawks, Macaws, monkeys, etc. - are all brought into the Cathedral of St. John the Divine and individually blessed by the Reverends. Following a grand procession outside, large numbers of local pets of all sorts are also given individual blessings.

Music has been provided by the Paul Winter Consort for the past 29 years.

Hi Bill.

Good to see you are continuing to make practical use of your cameras.

As a matter of interest, what stereo format is the movie in, what codec and what file-size ?

Hi David,

The TX-1's shoot MJPEG which I keep native throughout the editing process in Premiere Pro CS4. After editing, I usually provide a 1280x720p side-by-side to the exhibitor although some prefer individual L & R channels.

I use the LEAD MJPEG codec because it is very fast, very high quality and allows me to quickly try different compression settings to hit a target of just under 4GB.

This is becoming less of an issue with the newer OS's, but I never know what hardware will be used for projection so I tend to be conservative.
