Opinions on the ELPH 180?

So I'm thinking about upgrading my 3d scanner from a3400IS's to ELPH 180's, are they any good? Do they get along well with chdk?

It would be nice to get that port finished and in the auto build, but I'm not clear what the status.
Don't forget what the H stands for.

I was interested in the Elph180 but discovered there is a defect which required some units to be sent for a factory repair. The only way to determine if it has to be sent back is some code on the inside of the battery door. Additionally, only one version of the firmware is supported, and again its necessary to have the camera in hand to determine this.
