My first attempt with CHDK, wudya think?

So I tried the shutter speed override and chose 1/80000, ISO 80, eV -2.0, Macro mode.  The first few attempts were blurry, and I figured the flash wouldn't sync with such a fast shutter speed, but I guess it can and that's when the pix started to turn out clear.  Then using Picasa I sharpened, cropped, and used the Focal Point B&W effect, and here you have it.  I'm very new to CHDK so I'd like some input if anyone likes this and also what is bracketing exactly?  What other cool things can I use this for besides the shutter override (oh and the Live Histogram rules).  BTW, I have a Powershot SD1000 Digital Elph.

So how can I find my actual shutter speed?  I guess I should also add that I used blue and yellow food coloring the saturated the colors just a tiny bit after the shot. That is a good Idea to expand the color to all of the liquid. And what is bracketing? And how do I run a script and how can I make it take several continuous shots, and can I enable the flash for every shot. I know, it is a lot of questions!

I first thought you were just very very lucky with getting  a couple drops of differently colored water to hit at the right time. Otherwise the water would have been muddy by now with all intermediate missed-shots. Though, if I was you, I would have dragged out the color into the rest of the water on the left side. That edge between B&W and teal is a dead-giveaway of your tweaking. :) And detracts from an otherwise way-cool effect.

Yeah I did actually used different colors of water, the only coloring effect I used was saturation.  I tried your tip to expand the Focal B&W and this is what turned out.  Better?

These are the subsequent muddy shots:

my question.... did you use a normal flash? i mean with a 1/80000 second, you'll need a lot of power to get a acceptable result, don't you?

EDIT: I just saw.... the integrated flash is more than enough to do those pictures...
