Does this imply that I'll go through all cameras that have that one? I guess so...
If implemented correctly, the difference between the "complicated" and "simple" fix is only when it's applied: The original simple fix is applied unconditionally for all quick press shots. The complicated fix is only applied for quick press when a CHDK overrides are active.

So if the simple fix doesn't work, the complicated one shouldn't either.

It's quite likely the fix was implemented blindly in some ports, without testing whether it was needed or worked.
Don't forget what the H stands for.

Perhaps it was ill applied, we'll figure it out I hope.

Yes, I guess I'm through half the cameras and should just go though the rest no matter what I found in the code.
Koshy had a little ELPH which wasn't white as snow but everywhere that Koshy went the ELPH was sure to go. (actually an SD, but that detail ruins the rhyme...)

Getting distracted by other things, it's been six weeks again...

Where are we on this? I recall that I intended to test the other cameras (the ones not turned up by the code search) for short shutter press as one simply didn't work in a test and is now one of the four waiting to be fixed.

Apart from that, can one of you help with the ones that remained open?

The issues with sx210 in https://chdk.setepontos.com/index.php?topic=13492.0 may be relevant to other failed cases in this thread, I'll try to take a look at some point.

That camera had the normal simple workaround, but apparently still failed. The fix that appeared to work involved moving the workaround to one of the later cases for the quick press variable.

I have to say I don't worry a too much about this problem, because the cameras behave pretty badly on quick press anyway. It's certainly worth fixing where we can, but  it shouldn't have too much impact on normal shooting.
