1st. Quite simply amazing work here. thanks for letting me be enthusiastic about a camera relegated to the drawer.

I am using build 51 for my SD500. The motion detection does not work when on the video setting - has anyone else experienced this?

I don't know anything about SD500, but for my a570is the md_detect_motion function works fine in video mode. You may be running a script that doesn't work properly in video mode because starting and stopping video requires different kind of shutter presses compared to still shooting.

You may want to test this one, I just posted a newer version:

Excellent - the new version seems to work. Thanks.

One problem - the maximum I can keep the LCD on for is 3 minutes. As soon as this is reached it will not detect any more motion or take more video until I press the shutter button a few times. Is there a command that could be added to keep the camera awake?
