Got it: thanks. Just tested it to convince myself. Yes the last used script always shows up in the [Alt] mode :-)
BTW I'm experiencing 'strangeness' with my script, which I'm running in MF mode.
I've even used set_mf(1).
The problem is focus changes when I take a picture, ie if I take a dark frame bookend in my script, I adjust Tv, but I notice focus changes.
I don't think it should.
I can get round by explicitly set focus again.

I think I've seen something like this on my G7X as well. If I set MF in the Canon UI (with "safety MF" off) and shoot, the focus distance reported in the CHDK OSD sometimes changes. Playing around with it just now I wasn't able to reproduce it though  :-[
Don't forget what the H stands for.

Yes, I have safety off.
