S80 dump to start port

Where could I download the canon S80 dumped firmware?

I've one and I want to start to trying port the CHDK to it and I want to know if this firmware is dumped yet or I need to dump it from my camera.

EWAVR already started the porting, but there is no success yet.
The dump is available due to an unofficial update was found somewhere.

I've uploaded S80 original fw (ver 1.00g). Could you check if your camera has the same version of fw?

I have an S80 so silly question...how do I check the firmware version?

oops...silly boy that I am...just looked at the FAQ and my f/w is 1.00F

I try alone the dump this or next week and if I've any problem I'll return to this great forum.

There is semi-official update to 1.00g. You can try to update your cameras.

thanks...do you know if that can be made non-permenant so as to check it out...would hate to kill the camera before a CHDK port was available!

No. This update is permanent. But one guy from russian forum already updated his camera by such update.
So, do not forget charge your batteries, write the file to SD-card, choose "Firmware Update" menu, press "Ok" and... pray!  :D

OK thanks I've now a total brick camera...  :P not it's a joke!!

Now I've my S80 camera with the 1.00g firmware, thanks for the link!!

This week I try to start read the documentation and I'll start with the port.

Okay I have had a bit of a thunk...rather than upgrade the f/w now I will leave it at  1.00F and will happily act as a beta tester for EWAVR and that nice man who upgraded from version C and anyone else doing an S80 port...this way it will be known what of the port from 1.00g will or will not work on 1.00F.

As for porting...its a bit beyond my present skills the more I look into it so I will see if I can learn how to do it and if I do have success I will share...so if the developers are happy I'll act as an independent alpha/beta tester for version F
