We need one of the users to test one change that is necessary for the proper functioning of the CHDK for this camera.
The behavior of the POWER (on / off) and PLAY buttons should be checked.
The power up behavior depends on the button used:
- Playback (PLAY) button pressed, camera should start in playback mode.
- POWER (on / off) button pressed for less than a second, camera should start in playback mode.
- POWER (on / off) button pressed for more than a second, camera should start in record mode, with extended lens.
A test version of CHDK is attached.

I have the new(est) ? firmware for Canon IXUS 285 HS -  100c .
Wondering if there is a alpha build for that  - Am willing to do the testing for the same with a camera at my disposal.
Just to check my luck i tried the 100b build - but doesn't work on that.
Is it theoretically possible to backtrack my firmware to 100b ? ( from 100c ? )

I don't have access to the 100c firmware so I can't tell you anything about compatibility with version 100b.

You can try this test build.

The differences are minimal, mostly the addresses of some tables in stubs_entry.S, RAM code and RAM data are copied from different addresses, but there are also two different addresses in boot.c
Firmware_crc is disabled.

The source code for the platform / sub / 100c is attached.

Since it didnt have the ps.fi2 or ps.fir file, couldnt try the firmware update method.
So, loaded with the Bootable SD card method.

Here are the test case results -

Thanks, the values in the trunk are definitely wrong for this camera.
This test build should fix that.
Now you can also try the fw-update method to load the chdk.
Let me know if you find any other problems.
If all goes well, I will replace the source code in the previous post with the final version.
