A720 IS remote capturing and A720 IS vs S5

Hi,
I would like to buy a chdk compliant camera.
I was undecided between Powerhot a720 is and  Powershot S5 is.
At A720IS - CHDK Wiki is written: "usb-support for remote shooting - works now."
I've read in other websites (wikipedia, a720's page) that a720 doesn't support remote capturing.
What should I think?
Does this mean that software at Canon capture works on a720 is?
Could you be so kind to give me an advice on which camera to buy between the two above?

Thank you for your time,
best regards

Federico

"usb-support for remote shooting - works now."
remote shutter is meant by that, not remote capturing. this does not really answer your question regarding what camera to buy, but maybe clarifies some things.

It means that you can build your own remote control to trigger the camera. With a key ring torch or anything that provides 5 volts and has a button.

Unfortunately, I don't own either of the two cameras to try that "Canon capture" software, but let's see if someone else is interested. But thanks for the link.

The "which camera to buy" question is always difficult to answer; it depends on your specific needs and likings.
Maybe you can contact the developer of that software to see if the A720 is/will be supported.

Thank you for your reply wontolla and PhyrePhoX.
I'll just continue to follow this thread to see if someone with a a720 manage to use remote capture.

And I'm gonna continue to think about which one to buy (there's a 200 euros of offset between the two cameras and both support AllBest. I suppose 1.00a , 1.00b, 1.00c differ only for the supported camera and not for features available.)

Regards
