Tweak to DoF feedback

Currently the the near DoF, when the focus is at infinity, reports infinity. By definition, when focused at inifinity the near DoF is at the hyperfocal.

May I request this change, to correct things.

Cheers

fyi... you can edit your prevous posts. As a courtesy you might want to indicate what changes you made.

Original post corrected. Sorry for the 'typo'. As I say, it would be technically correct if the DoF reporting could be corrected to show the near DoF at the hyperfocal, when the focus is at infinity.

This way scripts can use this info as well as it looking right in the on screen  feedback.

Cheers

If the DoF info reporting does get tweaked, to correct the near.dof at infinity, may I request you consider adding one more piece of info, namely an estimate (sic) of the number of (non-macro) focus brackets from the current focus point (fp) to the hyprerfocal (H).
This can be estimated simply from (H+fp)/(2*fp). When the fp is at H or beyond the number would be 1.

The number of brackets increases rather rapidly for longer focal lengths, and thus focus stacking is usually restricted to shorter lens settings. The user should be aware of this as part of the DoF feedback IMHO.

Cheers
