I an trying to hack my CHDK Powershot SX 60 HS with firmware 1.00 G but the downloaded release doesn't have the PS-FI2 file. The guy in the youtube video says I'm SOL. How do I update the firmware to C where the PS-FI2 file exists or how do I get the G file to work
?

What youtube video told you that?  There is so much incorrect information on youtube created by clueless people claiming to be experts in order to harvest links.

The SX60 is one of the newer DIGIC6 cameras and booting from this cameras via the "firmware update" method (using a ps.fi2 file) is unreliable.  You should really  use the "SD Card Lock" method.

However, if the C version actually has a ps.fi2 file then it will be possible to build one for your G version - but you don't have to wait for someone to do that if you use the other method.

Also, you can't change the firmware version of a Powershot unless Canon issues one of its very rare updates.  And you certainly can't go to an earlier version.

Complete details about installing CHDK can be found here : CHDK Wiki : Prepare Your SD Card

I very strongly recommend using either the STICK or CHIMP utilities linked at the top of that page.

Well I have it to this step:http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/CHDK_1.4.0_User_Manual#Key_Shortcuts

I am having trouble getting it into ALT mode on the SX60HS. I've fumbled my way into it a few times but I can't quite figure out the button combo.

Second thing is how do I get the  setting here:

The SX60 is limited to 15 second exposures at ISO 100, and 1 second exposures for ISO>100, even in manual mode. 15 seconds at ISO 100 at f/3.4 might work to capture a bit of the Northern Lights.

I only can get f/3.56 and ISO 100 but I don't quite get how to set 15 second exposures and 1 second exposures with CHDK. More to come.

The default alt button for SX60 is the playback button. Click it to switch to alt mode,  long press for the normal Canon function.

Set the values you want in the CHDK "Enhanced Photo Operations" menu https://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/CHDK_User_Manual#Enhanced_Photo_Operations then leave alt mode and shoot.
Don't forget what the H stands for.

Ok I figured out everything but the delay timing and where to set it.

Delay timing needs to be 10 secs.-32 seconds.

You'll need to use a script of you want a shutter release delay. There is a simple one included with the CHDK standard release.
