I have this old S95 and today I got a brother from ebay.
I know it's old, but I still love it.
When I used CameraVersion to identify the firmware it stated that it was also a 100K, like the one I own...nice.
But it had a few settings in the canon software that were different....odd?
Despite that knowledge I just took a SD card with the software for my other 100K, the cam started up with chdk but did not function as expected. after that It failed a few times to start up, had to change sdcards. when it did, it failed to update and i had to readjust settings in canon's software as well as in chdk to make the camera function properly after chdk loaded. (i already did that before i loaded chdk, like flash didn'work and changed to -1 in menu, dynamic range correction was suddenly set at -400 and some other things)
Looking at the Canon menu there is a difference in how to configure it and what can be configured.
the most obvious difference is when you manually change ISO in P mode. my old S95-100K has only choices for 100, 200, 400 etc values. the other S95-100K has also 1/3 ISO values to choose from, so like 80, 125, 160.
I've looked on the Canon website and it does not state an update for the S95.
Since both have a 100K firmware I can only assume that I missed a setting, but the menu has real difference in options.
So, does anybody that owns a S95-100K have an idea what setting I missed?
Did CameraVersion identify one of my S95 wrongly? and should i use a different build (vers.req method gave gm1.00k on the new one, can't currently test the old one)
Did Canon make changes without changing the version of the firmware? eg, what possible iso choices has your S95-100K
I'm just curious.....
