getting rid of error code

getting rid of error code

having ported the chdk to the sd500 1.01b  - i am still having one problem.
the camera works fine but when i check the .ver file and look at the software version screen i do get an e18 error.

since my zoom and lens is working flawless the big question is... how do i get rid of this message?!

is there a way to delete the error log? there must be something like this?!

any ideas?

E18 is just the last error which was happen formerly. I think it's here for Canon service engineers. I do know, how to get rid this message. It seems the camera keeps this info in the NVRAM.

That is my point..... it is an old value.....

do we have a way to write these error codes in NVRam?

i think i will look into it later tonight. maybe i can find a memory address with the error code.

In my A710 I can read this error number and corresponding error message using get_parameter_data() function, but I have not tried to write this value back.
