here you have a picture from sx530
as you could see in the left picture the WiFi card is on the table,
and the end of the flex cable, where the card was is covered with a sticker.

I will try to find it and disconnect it, to see what will happen.
The camera has a damaged lens anyway.

just make sure to cover the flex cable connections, it shouldn't short circuit the device

Do you have a close-up of the Wifi module? Knowing the details of which modules are used could be interesting, and possibly helpful in your project if they are documented.

most of the newish models look like those those two above
except for the SX 740 (as far as i know), looks like this is the new type,



this is a really old one i found not sure which model


this is the error you get on all cameras after removing the WIFi model, when you try to search for a network

Thanks. The SX620 and G7X one appears to be a common MARVELL chip that uses SDIO or USB.

Based on the internal photo available by FCC ID, the SX740 appears to be broadcom chip.
