My DNG Thumbnails are TINY

The camera in question is SD880.

Due to the retention of metadata, I opted to capture ver-1.3 DNG

The CHDK Raw files from this camera have good-sized and very clear thumbnails; whereas, the thumbnails I get with the DNG images are tiny and very scrappy looking; I can barely identify what is in each picture.

Is this normal for CGDK DNG images ?

Is there something I can do to make the DNG thumbnails larger and to have more clarity ?

CHDK RAW files contain no metadata and no thumbnails. They are just a raw sensor dump saved in a binary file.

So what you are seeing seems to be a function of the PC image processing software you are using. Tell us about that?

Yes, it's normal. The CHDK DNG thumbnail is generated on camera and is very primitive.

There is nothing you can do to make CHDK generate better thumbnails. Other software might be able to generate better previews.

Thanks; I was afraid that was as good as it was going to get, while also hoping that I had made some mistake in my set-up.
"Primitive" is a very good description.
