G10 problems

G10 problems

Hi folks,

I had chdk installed in my G10.
It was away for years, I decided to install it again, formated two cards, installed the correct chdk file with stick but I can't get it to work properly again.
When I lock the card prior to inserting it into the camera I am not allowed to shoot as the card is locked.
If I unlock it, I can call firmware update and make the chdk work but it will be in the smallest partition, so I ask to change partition. When powering out the camera and on again it is lost for the camera as it won't show me again any firmware or chdk options.
I am lost!
Can anyone help?

How big is the SD card you are trying to use?  Did you let STICK do all of the install steps for you?

I let the software do all the work.
I tried with the same card 16gb slow card class 4 and again with an 8gb c10 card with no luck.
My firmware is 102.

Good.  There should be log file called sticklog.txt in the folder that you installed STICK into.  Please post it here as an attachment?

Yesm this one.
I am attaching the log file.
It is weird as it had already worked.
I ca record a video of what I am doing if needed.

There are a couple of lines in that log file with errors tagged "Permission denied". The log file also indicates that you did not run STICK with elevated permissions.

Assuming you are running Windows,  you need to launch STICK by running stickx.cmd (not stick.bat).

Recent versions of OSX (Mountain Lion and later) require root access to make changes to cards. As a result, STICK will fail with a "permission refused" message unless it has root access. To run STICK under Mountain Lion, Mavericks, Yosemite, El Capitan or later versions, use the stickML.command script. Double-clicking the script will bring up a terminal window and sudo will ask you to type your logon password so STICK can get root access. STICK will run when you press return.

Thank you, I was running it directly. I had already read it but as it ran ok I didn't think it was the problem, as it was successfully completed, at least that was the message.
It is working again, thanks a lot!
