Turning display off on SD870

Hi,

I'm writing to see if anyone knows how to turn the LCD off on the SD870 while running a script in order to conserve battery power?

you can either use a headphone jack or a piece of plastic. this will trick the camera into thinking a tvset is plugged in.

Good idea. That works!

I was hoping for a CHDK programming way to accomplish this, instead of a mechanical solution. Is this possible?
