Hi,
I have not been able to find a way to meter (spot) on a particular spot, then move the camera without loosing focus. It seems that when I have press the shutter, the metering and focus both lock; then when I move it, I lose focus.
Is there a script, or setting, that will tell the camera to focus on whatever it's pointed at, even after half pressing the shutter button?

You keep asking questions about this camera that are mostly not CHDK related. Please download the Canon user guide for this camera, if you have not already done so.
For your current question, see "Shooting with the AF Lock", page 104 (106) of the pdf manual.

Hi, Yes, you're right. It is in the manual, under AE lock, and it does exactly what I want. I don't know how I missed it. Sorry about wasting everyone's time.
