Unleash the power of your Canon P&S with SUIx, comprehensive long duration intervalometer.
Your bread and butter for timelapse projects

Supports all cameras that run CHDK 1.5.5552 and up. If your model is not working properly with this software, let me know and I will fix it.

script and txt documentation:
'SUIx latest version'

pdf documentation with screenshots:
'SUIx manual English'

'SUIx manual Nederlands'

creating a sd card for use with CHDK
'prepare your sd card'

Timelapse for long periods, time or exposure triggered day shoots, astro and nocturnal photography, sunrise and sunset documentation, moving camera scenarios. These are not seperate tools, it's SUIx.

Easy to use, yet feature rich. SUIx suited for novices and experienced photographers.

If you have questions, let me know.

Main features:
-interval time: 2 seconds ~ 4 hours.
-maximum exposure limiter: 1/125 ~ 48 seconds.
-exposure changes with values equal or longer than 1 second in [P], [M], [Tv], [Av], [AUTO] & [C].
-time, day and exposure triggered start and stop.

A video to show its low light dusk and dawn capabilitys:

This is a moment I've been looking forward to for the last year.
Every once in a while a development comes along that changes the possibilitys.
And I'm happy that I was able to work on this one idea.

Thanks to Waterwingz, Reyalp, MSL and all others that helped me with scripts and insights vital to create this.

It is not finished here, this is merely the first script that supports, and gives you control over, long exposures in P and AUTO mode for all CHDK 1.4 and up supported cameras.
CHDK 1.5.5552 is a minimum requirement only if you use the REBOOT function.
To go beyond here, your feedback is most appreciated.

0.6.7 menu changes, please delete old SUIx files from CHDK/DATA/ folder
0.6.1 calibration can be done with every ISO value
0.5.1 manual Tv compensation setting, compensation values in log
0.4.8 image folder is added to log
Changed settings in version 0.4.7:
settings longer than 1 sec exposure: no, natural, dark, moreDrk, mostDrk (for lightsensitive, large sensors)
Changed functionality in version 0.4.5:
'Dark Frame' is only disabled when you activate 'Enable exposure limit'

This makes it possible to use the native >1sec exposure on Powershot S, G and EOS M with dark frame.

:) WOW! Maybe some ND-Filter support and darkframe switch would be nice?

I think the video is too long. In the middle it gets very boring

@Caefix Is that a feature request?

I removed darkframe to give room for more flexibility and tighter timing.
But if you are unable to do darkframe substraction in post processing, I can make a switch to enable it.
I do admit I have not done post processing myself for this slideshow.
but I wanted to show the result as it came from the camera and not after a few layers of filters.

And can you explain why you would like to manually change ND-filter?

I can add it to the feature list if you have use for it :)
This script is designed to work optimal in [P] / [AUTO] mode settings,
if you want a full manual control script, you might want to consider rawopint

a) I removed darkframe to give room for more flexibility and tighter timing.
b) And can you explain why you would like to manually change ND-filter?
a) Off is best default. I thought about some IR-amp-glow. I´m not good in postprocessing.
(You would call my workstation a curble-calculator.)
b) For some reasons (ie blury waterfall, ligthning in twilight) longer exposure might be interesting.

Off it is, so iI won't add the switch.

b) For some reasons (ie blury waterfall, ligthning in twilight) longer exposure might be interesting.
I usually avoid the need for a ND filter by using lower ISO values.
In my experience that improves image quality while creating close to the same effect.
Since you can set the maximum exposure in [P] mode I was able to shoot this lightning storm at ISO 80.

Even at twilight you already have way over >1sec exposure at ISO 80....what is way over naturally depends on sensor/lens combination.
And you might want to use the [Exposure change] to go as far as making it lighter when it turns dark.

If you have a project for which that is not enough, I'll make the addition of an ND-setting.
What is the maximum ND filter on these cams, is that 4, so 2 f-stops?
