I'm capturing in AUTO mode, there isn't such a setting; Idk what the default parameters are in AUTO mode..
Well, these sort of things are often enabled by default in auto mode(s). Also, auto and scene modes are usually make lots of settings inaccessible.

Should I try some different mode?
Yes please. M, P, Av, Tv. You could also re-test ztest3 or 2 in these modes.

The exmem variable that fails the check is initially set to the number of exmem types, but it is not a constant.
Following up on this.
The check that fails here is for pre-defined allocations (when 0 size is specified in a call to exmem_alloc and its variants). Only one such allocation is allowed at any time. Apparently, the combination of events confuses the camera and the previous allocation is not freed before a new one is requested. The new allocation would be EXMEM_WIDE, the old can't be determined from the romlog.

Hi again!
I´m just trying another approach to collect info.
Different cams + same or similar bug = hidden common sense.
The most suspiscios word appearing in romlogs is: EntryIdleShoot
Seems often to be followed by a loop eating/bursting memory.
Just a thought...
All lifetime is a loan from eternity.

We don't really need more info other than "Does set_zoom work on the camera or not". I'm guessing that several of your cameras crash when you use set_zoom. If you'd like to help us fix that, please name those cameras. Some romlogs in the zip seem related to a set_zoom provoked crash, others do not.

I´ll try!
With one exception ("StartupEeko", sorry) all that romlogs I saved after set_zoom context.
Even the funny "System Panic".
The newer SX210(-test2), SX230 and Ixus220 all crash with nearly the same log.
The older SX 210, S90, S95, Ixus310 ... have the distortion )( without crash/log.

to be continued sometime...

Thanks, that's better. Let's finish sx210 first. Can you (or hedwiggggg) test ztest3 in (semi-)manual shooting modes (M, Av, Tv, P), with servo AF and continuous AF disabled? If that still crashes occasionally, try the same with ztest4. Obviously, use set_zoom commands to test.

--- z3 & z4 nearly same as z2, both logged twice.

So, you're suggesting that all these test versions crash when using set_zoom? Was the camera in one of the following modes: P, Av, Tv, M, with servo AF and continuous AF switched off?
What does your test procedure look like?

So as I said, with my SX210IS and the last test version; The AUTO / M / Tv / Av mode was just fine;
Unfortunately I didn't had the time yet to test the other versions;

But I will do it as soon as i'm no longer stressed out

All tests & logs in P-Mode etc.
Procedure is allways !Helperl.bas, see Reply #1, that´s working with all (cams without (key or zoom) issue, (SX700 etc.)).
I do use Zoom keys until crash (at once or later "accidently").
If You offer a testfile that gives You optimized info, then I´ll use that too.
Finally I got a former SX210 build (on 2nd SX210) crashed with lenserror shutdown, but an outdated romlog.
(I had expected same as Aromlog-IXUS220, but got none.)

@ Replay 22 : 4) Subject distance (focus) is re-set to the stored value.
That value might be out of range now, refocus deshifting lenses until mechanical impossible.
-> blocking, Led Panic or even ugly noise. How to avoid that?
