Hello! I stream on a rebel t7i and I want to be able to turn that white box of death (autofocus) off when I’m streaming so I can always be focused on screen. Is there a way you could help me turn off this overlay feature that’s been the bane of my existence? Thank you so so much!!

I have no experience with DSLRs, so the following may not work there:
Setting the lens to MF (and cycling INFO until overlay disappears) removes that rectangle on my EOS M10.
If that doesn't work (or you need AF), and there are no menu options for turning it off, then you're out of luck I'm afraid.
Removing the Canon overlay is possible on ML supported cameras and on some EOS M models, but ML is not available for your camera.
