Does anyone know if this will add the Exif comments to the "RAW" file as well as the Jpeg?

No, the script only works on JPEG files.

You might be able to edit the script to tag RAW files instead or as well.

I briefly checked the script(s). It uses the usercomment exif tag, it also expects JPEG data when it looks for the exif tag.
CHDK DNGs have neither a usercomment tag, nor JPEG data. No idea about native RAW files, but I suspect that wouldn't work either.
