For the SD870, even with the touch icons patch (which is still wonderful!), the face detection can still overwrite the OSD menu. The trick of going into the regular menu and then the CHDK menu works great.

The patch for SD870is (IXUS 860) is I believe already in the trunk. The patch for SD850is (IXUS 950) is described here. It should be possible to do the same trick for other VxWorks based Ixuses that have TouchW task and taskNameToId() function (pointer to the function will be different of course). One such "candidate" is SD1000 (IXUS 70)

Well maybe you would then be more specific, i.e. what did you try, what did/didn't work perfectly, what was the bug and when it appeared
