The Ixus 185 chdk work great. 

The windows software "chdkptp" freezes when I click on "JPG Remote shoot".  The picture no download to pc.
In console says this



(I did a screenshot when the camera was connected. If the image says offline, ignore that.)

So...

When I write on console of Chdkptp "shoot", it shoot.
With "Shoot-dl", it download to pc.
Download works with these commands.

With command to test camera, it says on windows CMD 0x2ff error.

Thanks. I found a mistake in the previous test build. Please try -test 3 from https://chdk.setepontos.com/index.php?topic=13837.msg142236#msg142236


In the previous post with 0x2ff error, did you do something different? In that case, chdkptp didn't connect at all.

The results have been satisfactory.

I just want to know if the high battery consumption can be solved, or it is already something common to work from the SD.

At the moment I get the picture dark, but I tried to solve it by modifying some chdk settings.

The battery is small, nothing in CHDK will make really big change.

For a book scanner, I suggest an external supply. You can get clones quite cheap on amazon etc. I don't see one listed on the product page, but I expect the one used for other NB-11L cameras will work. Search for "ACK-DC90" or "ACK-DC90 replacement" or "ACK-DC90 compatible".

You need one that includes the "DC coupler" or fake battery.
