It might be interesting to see what happens with the settings that produce the second image using a more normal length exposure, like 1s or something.
I rewrote the test script (attached) to repeat the 4 shots for 1s, 10s and 300s. The attached pic shows them where the top row is 1s and the bottom is 300s. Shots are arranged 1. to 4. left to right.
It now looks like all the number 1.s are the same as the 2.s and 3.s - weird.
