A570 making concerning grinding noises when lens moves

My A570 has been making some rather unpleasant noises while zooming or moving the lens in general; I'm not sure what to make of it, but it's rather weird to say the least. What should I do?

This is normal on old cameras.
What to do? You can buy a newer camera with a quieter zoom mechanism.

Yes, that's what I expected; however the noise seems to change depending on the angle. I don't notice it with the camera in certain orientations, however doing that would limit the opportunities that I have for taking actual photographs with it. I'll see what I can do with the noises; most likely just leaving them be would probably be the best.
