With the boot method loaded and SD card locked. CHDK is successfully loading when I turn the camera on using the power button. All good. However the ultimate lua reboot option (and autostart) does not appear to be working am I doing something wrong? How critical is this? How long will the camera run without a reboot?
IIRC from several years ago, things like internal timers can overflow / wrap after three weeks or so.
But bear in mind these little cameras were designed under the assumption that people turn them on, take some picture or video, and then turn them off. You have to assume that there was probably not a lot of testing by Canon of cameras running for hours or days, never mind weeks. So periodic resets of something you hope to run for months unattended seems like a prudent course.
Everything else is working perfectly now. Interval time, 24 hour set up, lens retracting with playback mode etc. All good. I just can't get the script to restart after an auto reboot..
Strange. That's a pretty fundamental feature and well tested.
I assume from what you've said that the "Autostart" option in the Script menu is set to "On" ?
Does the
ultimate.lua script start running automatically when you first turn on the camera?
What happens if you try to Autostart a different script on power up? Pick as simple one from the EXAM folder.
Please enable the Script's Logging option - set it to
SDCard or
Both. Rerun your tests and then post the resulting
ULTIMATE.LOG file here as an attachment?
