Here's a newb question (my apologies to jaded experts who may frequent this forum).
I am trying to obtain the firmware version from an A720IS, without success (WinXP, via Windows Explorer, no card reader): there doesn't seem to be a way to paste files onto the card, either by right-clicking or Ctrl+V.
Posts I found via searching this forum appear to imply that I cannot add files to my card without an actual card reader; however, one post I found suggests that the camera's firmware is trying to "protect" my photos by disallowing the paste functionality. The FAQ does not explicitly state that I must have a reader.
Must I have a card reader and, if not, could someone please point me to directions on how to allow movement of files onto an SD card that is in the camera?
