Hi!

I'm new to CHDK. When I first played around with it the Zebra mode was working nicely on my Canon S2. I played a bit more and somewhen in between the Zebra mode didn't work anymore. I have no idea what I did to break it. It is enabled in the menu but even when the live histogram shows overexposure, zebramode does not kick in. Can anyone give me some pointers what I should check?

It may not help--but take the SD/SDHC card, place it in you card reader and find the CHDK.CFG file (it contains all of your CHDK settings).

Either move it back to your computer, rename it CHDK.OLD or erase it (depending if you need to save your old settings or not.

When you restart the camera, (remembering to change the write protect switch on the card), CHDK will create a new CHDK.CFG file--see if this works or not. It is possible the old CHDK.CFG is corrupted or has some setting messed up.

You could also try setting CDHK back to its defaults.

Thanks for the reply. This didn't work either unfortunately. I think I saw Zebra mode working with the original CHDK and I'm now running Allbest. Are there any known problems with Zebra and Allbest?

Could you open your menu, select 'Zebra parameters' , and tell us what your selections
in that menu are ? That would help.
Likewise for 'Miscellaneous Values' -> Show Build Info (so we can see what build version you got)

Try changing Zebra Mode to Solid or Zebra (RGB Zebra is pretty useless else)
Or leave it as is and switch off RGB Zebra (which, BTW only shows OVERexposure !)

                                     (Zebra is around p. 40)

Ah thank you, that userguide was exactly what I needed. I now turned off RGB zebra and increased the sensitivity of the OverExposure setting and everything works as I expected it.

Glad that's sorted. Also check out the OSD Layout Editor (p. 21) to get all
your OSD elements just where you want'em
