Hi,

I've got a question about a possible use case.

The Canon  M50 doesn't come with clean HDMI out, do you think it's possible to achieve this via CHDK?

CHDK definitely cannot. There is no CHDK support for M50, and support for digic 8 is unlikely to happen any time soon, if ever.

Digic 8 cameras do have Canon Basic (see https://www.magiclantern.fm/forum/index.php?topic=25305.0), so it's possible something like the clean overlay script (https://chdk.setepontos.com/index.php?topic=13489.0) could be implemented, but reverse engineering would be required.
