Is there a way to switch the middle contact in the hot shoe independently of a recording?

I don't mean the switch for detecting whether there is a flash in the hot shoe.

I'm not aware of this being reverse engineered, but I would strongly suspect that it's software controlled using a GPIO.

I'm still looking for a way to turn off a plant lamp while shooting. Unfortunately, the lamp is very sluggish so that I cannot switch it off directly via the flash shoe. The HDMI output cannot be switched on my cameras either.
I am now thinking about an optical switch via a focus lamp.

I don't  understrand you....
I want to switch an external device and not the camera.
